So on Christmas Day morning my (then) boyfriend proposed to me and of course I said “Yes”. Knowing me so well he knew he wouldn’t be able to pick out an engagement ring himself, so he proposed with a handmade origami ring, which I wore all Christmas Day. Hard work considering we we’re both helping his mum out with cooking Christmas dinner, and I had to keep taking it off for washing veggies and the various other tasks that needed doing. Anyway I am so very happy to be engaged and my main new years resolutions revolve around finally being at this point in my life.
- Find the perfect engagement ring & a matching wedding band (just to tick that off the wedding list).
- Host an engagement party, a casual get together for our friends and a meeting of the families.
- Finish my digital marketing course online.
- Find a new job.
- Buy a beautiful house to decorate and make our own.
- Eat more healthily, more super skin foods to try keep my atopic eczema at bay.
- Learn how to drive, it’s probably about time I did this one.
Black diamonds are MY best friend!
I do love Instagram. It’s a great way of discovering new artists. Which is exactly how I stumbled upon Martin Hsu.
I particularly liked his trio of prints, The Vigilant Bat, The Mystifying Kraken and The Amiable Tiger. Their story:
Unspoken Messages, strong women and their spirit animals.
All love is left unsaid, but understood
I ended up purchasing the Amiable Tiger print, very naughty this close to Christmas but I couldn’t resist. Just have to find a nice frame and somewhere to hang it, which is always the hardest part. What do you guys think of these prints?
Gestuz is inspired by backstage rock n’ roll life but with a hint of elegance and sweetness. This complemented by strong and cutting edge print stories and through a small selection of handcrafted, eye-catching pieces you get a chance to stand out from the crowd.
I have followed Gestuz for a few years now, and their AW ’12 Lookbook is a lovely combination of feminine yet edgy pieces. I have picked my favourites, if only I could add them all to my endless wishlist of things I would like to purchase. Sadly most of these are out of my budget so I will have to make do with oogling them online. I do need a pair of leather pants though… maybe I could just save up…
